Gents:

Who has the latest "info" on Alaska? Anyone who interviewed lately have anything to share? I'm just trying to get up to speed.

I appreciate the help and PM me directly if you can.

Looking at the last bid I would guess there will be new hires that hold lines in ANC. Right now little over a year to hold open flying in SEA, 6 mo is LAX, and a month or two in ANC.

Well, I'm pushing 11 months in SEA and nowhere near an OF line. I think its more about 18 months plus right now.

Are new hires still told by management that upgrades for newhires will be within 5 years? that apparently was the message from the old VP of flight ooops.

I am a SEA guy, hired DEC 05. Had open flying line last NOV and DEC and a regular line JAN and FEB. Slid back to Reserve March and April and back to Open flying May and June, Had a regular line ever since.

1 year 4 months.

close but no cigar for open flying in SEA (holding weekends off any zone on reserve though). the big question mark are the MD-80 guys coming off that fleet and how much expansion the 73 is going to have in the future. so far just 1-1 replacement, and actually a reduction in the gross amount of airplanes. BF told us though that we were growing 10% per year...ummm...yeah...right, BF...

percentage wise...just as far from a line in LAX. the class one ahead of us has held a line since newhire though...rotten timing.

I'm about half way up in ANC now and aparently there will be 71 lines by january with hawaii flying.

Lax - 1 year and can't hold weekend off with choice of zone. Open flying nowhere in sight. Your info bites.......Good luck!

Baja.

In October the most junior FO holding open flying in each domicile
4/17/06 SEA
5/19/06 LAX
I have to guess with ANC since the person is not on our last updated seniority list which was Feb07 and say late Spring early Summer in ANC

This last bid in ANC JAN08 we only have 63 FO’s in ANC and 71 lines of flying up there so I think it is safe to say that new hires should hold lines in ANC

I am the lucky junior ***tard to get an OF line in ANC, 5/07 new hire - may or may not hold an OF line in Nov, but someone in my class will (senior to me).

I hate to disagree with the above posted junior seniority for OF in LAX, but I am class 6/5/06 and held OF all summer except Sept. because they shorted us 5 lines, and hold OF line this month. One guy junior to me also has OF this month. Timing is everything! Also helps that a couple senior guys like reserve and always bid it.

Right now (snapshot) its about 7.5 years if you take first available(ANC), and right at 10 years to hold SEA. I dunno 'bout LAX.

Of course, thats subject to go either way for any reason....
