Hey Tico,

Do you live near "TICO" airport, Titisville, Fl?

Anyway, in hearing what Alaska Air management is like, sure sounds a lot like Northwest.

I'm surprised to hear that ALK is run that way, seems to be that only the good PR comes out of their corp offices.....
Jetflier, you are correct in you assesment. As a matter of fact one of our former CEO's works for you guys....The only diference between us is our spinmeisters are the very best that money can buy. Alaska spends many many millions a year on polls and surveys etc.....At any one time we have two and sometimes three PR firms putting out spin....The rest of the world loves us but we are still rotten at the core.......

FlipC, from what I gather, likes to speak out of his ass-no facts. As I suggested on another forum, he should keep his pie hole shut and layoff on the coolaid.
Hey FlipC, why don't you jumpseat on us a few times and have a chat with the line pilots before you post any smart remarks about our pilot group; just a thought.

I work for the error group and have for eight years. I did talk with about forty former QX employees and fathers of FO's who are long time Capt's with AS. The point is you make your decision based on facts you find, not what someone else has found. I made my decision not to seek employment with AS based on what I found and what I am looking for in a company. I hope that is how most of us will find the right job (in or out of the airlines) that will make us happy. AS is not a very happy group of people at this time, will it change, I hope. It took thirteen years for the pilots to regain their last pay cut, I hope it is shorter this time.

I know one thing for sure, FlipC is NOT one of our pilots. Beyond that capacity who knows? And since he thinks that a 30% paycut to a pilot group from a profitable airline only upset a few vocal minority I doubt he even knows any of our pilots. Idiot.

So, back to the original question.... Alaska vs CATHAY. Sounds like you guys have answered this one for us.

Hey Flip: It was the "malcontents" that made this profession one of the more bearable and fruitful over the decades through organized labor.

Now it is being diluted by PFT and whores who'll fly a 727 for $30/hr.

After a lot of soul searching I ended up choosing AS. I'll know if I made the right decision in 30 years.
Well, regardless of what's said here it is tough to get the job and there are worse ones to be had. So congrats on landing it. Right choice? I guess we'll find out. I hope for MY sake you made the right choice.
