Just wondering if anyone knows what the chances of getting a SEA base starting in the April or May groundschool? Also MD or 73 advantages etc. They told me probably April groundschool. Very excited to get started!:)

Available positions for April & May new hire classes:

April (12 total):
Sea 4/NG -- 4
LAX 4/NG -- 3
ANC 4/NG -- 1
ANC 200 -- 2
SEA MD -- 2

May (8 total)
SEA 4/NG -- 4
LAX 4/NG -- 2
ANC 4/NG -- 2

There is no advantage to the MD at all. Rumors of no additional new hires to the MD after April. Continued reduction in positions and flying until the airplane goes away in 2008. Perhaps one minor advantage would be the "closed loop" type schedule that they say they are going to after the summer, with mostly turns or 2 day trips, so you are home alot if you actually live in SEA. But, as a new hire on the MD, you will be at the bottom until it goes away. Never off reserve. Although I suppose it won't really be an issue for most new hires. There are only 2 unfilled positions, likely to go the the 2 junior guys in the April class.

great info

Thanks for the great info. I do live in SEA and was really hoping for a SEA base. It looks like it could be a real possibility. Just waiting for instructions from employee services.

The class that started yesterday shows:

SEA 4/NG -- 5
LAX 4/NG -- 4
ANC 200 -- 2
SEA MD -- 2
