Alaska is hiring.
Application window opens April 11th for one week.

Happy Easter.

Congrats to all the AK pilots and newhires. Nice to hear of hiring at Majors for a change rather than furloughs.

HR requested we tell our peeps they have the whole week to apply, it doesn't have to be the first day.

Good luck with that dream.

Any idea how many pilots are forecasted to be hired?

How much Space Shuttle time do I need and how much of it must be with the vehicle inverted?

Alaska Airlines application info - April 11th
Fellow pilots,

Yes, the “rumor” is true! We are reopening the pilot application process the morning of Wednesday, April 11th. We are excited to continue the hiring process and need your help spreading the following helpful application tips:

Only online applications are accepted via https://careers.alaskaair.com/Alaska-CareerOps.asp starting Wednesday, April 11th.

The requisition will be open for 7 days; closing at 11:59pm on Wednesday, April 18th.

All qualified candidates currently on the requisition posted in October 2011, will receive an email notifying them of the posting window and the need to reapply.
All applicants who applied or were interviewed, but unsuccessful, last hiring window are eligible to reapply.

The hiring team will review resumes once the requisition closes. We are looking for best qualified and don`t provide preference to those that applied first.
The system will accept an infinite number of applications.

The REQUIRED browser is Internet Explorer 8 or above. In order to successfully submit your application, you MUST use this browser.

The online application process takes approximately 30 minutes. Be prepared to supply 10 years of work experience plus your high school information as well as any secondary education.

A current resume is a required part of the application process. Once your application is submitted, your resume cannot be edited or deleted.

Candidates are able to attach up to five letters of recommendation. To do this, they must click on the “My Career Tools” section on the careers page (upper right hand corner) and navigate to the section titled “Cover Letters and Attachments”. They will then be prompted to add attachment and list the document title.

Please read each question with care and not rush through the application. This will ensure the application is processed correctly and given full consideration for an interview. Due to the selection process being highly competitive, it is critical the application has accurate information.

And don't screw up. One misclick and it's game over.

So there is no way to update my app? I have to do the whole thing again? Is this correct?

No you don't have to do the whole thing over. All the info from last time is saved you just need to update resume and answer the questions. Took me 5 min to do.

Same problem here to, I guess i'll just update my current resume. It's format looks messed up though, and i hate to try to fix it if its just a matter of the way i'm viewing it. Good luck to all

Do you get a confirmation email once you finish the application? Because I didn't get one. Kind of ended anti-climactically. The list of questions and the how did you hear about us question is the end of it, right?

Confirmation email sent right away. Check your spam folder?

Will they notify you either way...or only send out interview invitations and keep the rest waiting in vain?
