Minimums are listed on the Alaska Airlines' website under the job listing "Future Pilot Hiring". You must submit this online application to get into the system.

No classes or interviews currently scheduled. There are still a number of pilots in the pool awaiting a class date.

Rumors abound, but nothing concrete...and nothing will be concrete until the contract is finalized in the next couple of months.

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 1500 hours total pilot time in fixed wing aircraft. Minimum 750 PIC hours in multi-engine (turbojet/ turboprop) aircraft or single-engine high performance military jet. Minimum 50 hours flown within the last 12 months.

Education:Four year degree given preference.

Licenses and Certificates: Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)

Health: Applicant must hold current First Class FAA Medical Certificate. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 in both eyes. Non user of nicotine products.

Legal Status: Applicants must be able to prove legal right to work in the United States. A background check will be completed for each applicant.

Candidates must possess:
-Excellent judgment and leadership skills
-Demonstrated command ability and maturity
-Ability to communicate effectively and learn rapidly
-Sound analytical ability and high tolerance to stress
-Professional demeanor and appearance

***Please note that these are minimum requirements and the majority of our applicants considerably exceed these standards.

No, not yet. The MD FO new hire positions that were reduced (or eliminated) left some still swimming.

I hear from time to time from some guys who are still in the pool waiting...and wondering....

...still waiting and wondering. 28 months and counting.

Hang in there Rhino. I'm sure you are really pruny by now being in the pool for so long, but it is worth the wait!
By the end of the month we'll have the verdict of the arbitration and hopefully hiring will begin.

Good luck!
