Hey acer123, do you know if the planned 4/18 class at atlas is a 747-400 class or a classic class ( try saying that 4 times fast)? thanx

Interview Call

Just got the call from Atlas for an interview. They are interviewing late March and mid-April for both fleets I believe. That's all I know for now
Any advice from insiders on what to expect at the panel interview? Also, believe that there is a sim eval on the 747-200. Anyone know the profile? Anyone else get the call? Trade notes........

b-757,
did you have someone take a resume in or just email it over and how long before they called for the interview?
thanks,
hoping for the Polar side!

ATR,
I made the initial contact at a job fair in MIA end of Jan. Then a few emails back and forth, I got a call from one of their Captains saying that he liked my resume. There then followed more emails (I was out of the country at the time) and more recently, HR emailed and called to offer an interview. So, I would say about 6 weeks. I think they only recently fixed up the actual dates for interviews as in Jan it was "accepting resumes for possible spring interviews".
I would suggest that you keep a dialogue going - both email and telephone contact. Don't be too pushy and don't mention that you would ONLY consider the Polar side. Leave that until the interview or if and when you get an offer.
If you want any more info, feel free to PM me.

Yep, Mar 31 in MIA. Anyone else that date? Understand they are interviewing 10 candidates per interview date.

Would Atlas hire someone with Green Card or you must be U.S citizen.

The handout says: "Legally authorized to work in the USA" and also "Current passport" since virtually all the routes are international/worldwide.
I would assume that that includes Green Cards.
Have you looked into the possibility of becoming a US citizen? You might be able to retain your original citizenship and have dual nationality. I only say this because it would definitely show commitment to the country you reside in, is not that expensive nor time-consuming and may make you as competitive as all the other candidates who are US citizens. All airlines are supposed to be "equal opportunity" employers but we all know (or should do) that sometimes decisions are made behind closed doors and you never know why you were not called for an interview. Quite simply, it's one less excuse for them to deny you an interview.

Thanks for your kind reply. I have applied to become a U.S Citizen about 15 months ago.I have since been married and they needed some more information from me. I just wanted to get ball rolling while waiting for my citizenship.

P.S I am not trying to take away jobs from American, I can't fly for my country and frankly if i could i wouldn't. Thank you America, and thank you all for given me the oppurtunity to make my dreams come true and put food on the table.

Good for you. You are now doing everything you can to show committment, motivation and resourcefulness. These are all valued traits and should hold you in good stead at interview time. Good luck to you and remember, never stop trying!

US citizenship required at Polar

Polar currently requires that all new hires be US citizens with a current passport.

B-atch is correct, US Passport or Bust.

Keep the Faith Guys! :)
