AirWis/UAL future?

I heard from a AirWis CA there was trouble with the LOI and UAL. Does anyone know more about this?

Our owners sent out a memo saying that it isn't a done deal until the mechanics agree to concessions. I believe they are trying to work this for all they can. The longer this is unresolved, the longer I get my current pay, so i'm not concerned.

I don't believe we are in any danger. especially since ACA is out of the picture now.

Well.... it may eventually be in trouble. The IAM (Mechanics) are still working on their TA and one of the "Three Amigos" wrote a memo stating that the continued negotiations are taking longer than UAL would have liked. Ultimately this could cause a problem with UAL's MOU with AirWis.

No biggie. Just management and the IAM playing games with each other.

How many carriers' mechanics kicked out the IAM recently? I know UAL did...

Half True. ACA may be going, but it looks like UAL is using TSA, Mesa, and CHQ to fill the void. Personally, I'd like to see our longtime pal AirCheese take it up.

I heard that the new UEX carriers are having trouble getting financning for there new aircraft, which also could be a problem. The margin for profit with the new contracts at UEX are so thin that banks are finding it difficult to lend money to these companies. This is part of the reason why ACA left!! My advise get out while you can, don't want to be a part of that sinking ship any more!!

I think Terry is jumping the gun a little bit, but I believe where he is getting the CHQ info is from all the gossip floating around about thier new TA hinting at a new codeshare........UA being the most likely I guess. Who knows................AD

Actually I heard it from A CHQ pilot. But he probably heard it in the crew room, and so it's about the same credibility of source if you know what I mean.

As of 7 p.m. MST on Thursday September 4th, UAL has not announced a MOU or a Contract with Chautauqua Airlines. The CHQ guy you were talking to was spreading rumor. No secret though that UAL was talking to CHQ about work. Hasn't happened yet.

I think you unintentionally stumbled on to something that may actually turn out to be fact. If CHQ does get into this UAL deal, you will be a prophet by accident!
