US Airways adds service between Boston and Buffalo

Lisa Treon
3/27/2006
US Airways announced today that, beginning June 19, the airline will more than double its service between Boston's Logan International Airport and Buffalo Niagara International Airport. Four additional flights will be added Monday through Friday, giving the airline seven daily roundtrip flights. Sunday's schedule will also increase to five daily roundtrips with the addition of two roundtrip flights.
The amplified service will be operated by US Airways Express carrier Chautauqua Airlines using the 50-seat Embraer Regional Jet 145 (ERJ-145).

Isn't Buffalo the one where they're down to one runway through this summer?

What will they think of next? X.L.C.'s?

Yeah, that 50 seat RJ is definitely gonna kick some jb butt.

Yea boy...back in the day any time airways (Allegheny/USAir) was threatened in a route like that they would throw a few extra DC-9's on the route and crush the competition............now they can't even find an airplane that they own or is flown by their pilots.......best they come up with to combat A320's with tv's in each seat is to contract several flights in the most uncomfortable jet currently operating..........

<<Customer thinking>> Hmm lets see, watch a tv show in fair comfort, or be smashed in like rats, crippled up and not be able to walk straight the rest of the day...What to do What to do?

Sigh.

At least for now. 32 is the only runway they are using, and 23 looked like it was having some work done, as well as the taxiways.

Is airways gonna be cheaper than jb? Just curious. As for those frequent flyer miles, when can you use those? On a flight from CLT-PIT on the night of June 23rd, 2008? Sign me up.

Could really care less. Point is the consumer might love JB's product, but they value the cheaper ticket everytime. As we all know this does wonders for our job. Besides on a 45 minute flight I don't think TV and XM means jack.

Yeah, I got it -- there's no possible way that a consumer would pick a jb flight over a cheaper one that saves five bux. But are they gonna be cheaper? I am really curious and too lazy to read the articles.

I disagree with this (and I buy a lot of airline tickets), price figures into the equation but carrier and mileage program figures in heavily as well. Without naming names there are a couple carriers I wouldn't fly on if you paid me.
