Besides the last 7 years AirTran has had a higher standard for interview and hiring selection..

Max,

Your SWA hate needs to end and you need to get on board with the real world.

Out PIC requirement is double yours, and there is NO shortage of qualified candidates. Not to be mean about it, but we were getting plenty of new hires from AAI. Not disparaging anyone, it is what it is.

In answer to the original poster; SWA and AAI remain independent companies. SWA is very protective of its culture and that begins with the hiring process, I doubt anything from the AAI process will remain.

It is still a great idea to try and assess why she didn't get hired. It could be a quirk of the AAI hiring process, or it could be an indication of a larger problem. We've all been there, it can be tough to make adjustments without beating yourself up, but that is what you need to do.

Best of luck!

Did your "friend" get turned down at AirTran before or after you did this ?:

"AirTran Recruiter Meeting
I have arranged a meeting (or phone meeting) with Stephanie Grantham who hires pilots at AirTran. I am helping out a friend who has a kid who wants to work for them. Any AirTran pilot on this board who might PM me."

;)

She got turned down after an interview with one of the AirTran reps in Vegas, or maybe after Vegas. Not sure.

Here's one for ya;

Guy I know gets hired buy AA in the early 80's, he leaves cause he doesn't want to work for AA. Gets a job with Ozark Airlines right after leaving AA. Then TWA buys Ozark in 1986. Then guess who shows up to buy TWA in 2001, yeah you betcha AA. Now he's back to the Airline he didn't want to work for in the first place!!

We're all just pawns in the crazy business.
