Wow.That was the most disorganized poor excuse for a training program I've ever seen. The instructors were great, but the system they had to work with was an abomination. Still, getting the 70 hour minimum helped take the pressure off since I didn't have to worry about paying the bills.
You've obviously never flown for PCL. That entire program was simply "we're reading the book together in class", taught by a line BAGGAGE HANDLER who went through class twice himself and had absolutely ZERO knowledge of the aircraft. That was the most disorganized poor excuse for a training program I've ever seen. Compared to that experience, I actually enjoyed the CBT at AAI. Still had to get some things answered and I think the order of CBT/VPT/FMS-T could be better scheduled to take advantage of certain modules of learning, but altogether it wasn't that bad compared with where I've been before, except for Flight Safety and Simuflite.
Those folks have their training down to a SCIENCE.![]()
No medical available until the first day of the 2nd FULL month AFTER you start training. SO, if you're in the class starting a week from tomorrow, March 5th, you won't be elligible for health insurance until the 1st of May
WOW...what awesome benefits....LOL LOL LOL I can't stop laughing....now this is a company that knows how to say "welcome". WOW oh WOW do they suck.
You guys might be right... I might have misunderstood, since I opted OUT of the medical insurance.Did that change? When I was hired it was the first of the month following your start date. I was hired mid-Sept. '05 and had Medical benefits beginning Oct 1.
ROFLMAO!!!P.S. I'll bet indy air paid great. Right up to the point they quit paying everybody, dumbass.

Maybe AirTran's training wasn't as bad as I thought.
That being said, I really think health coverage effective date of hire makes a much better first impression, and I'd like to see all the new hires beneift from that in the next contract.
That's just one way to make guys feel like they're coming into a class organization.
I'm suprised Airtran managment even gives you guys health care. Something is better than nothing.
70 hr guarantee for training, health benefits. since you are based in ATL no hotel or per diem. Makes sense to me. But I work for a company that's not in bankruptcy or about to close the doors.

How about let the effective date stay where it is and bring the premiums down out of the stratosphere? That would have made a better impression on me.
What health benefits? The previous post said they do not kick in til month 2...and so what that they pay you...that is the least they should do. But, no paying for a hotel??? Sounds like a wash in the pay department. Depending on where you stay. You can not even put into your 401k for 2 years?? Maybe I read it wrong and if so, I apologize.
As for Indy Air, yes..theydid pay great til it folded, and they continued all our health insureance at no cost to us for 3 more months. I can not argue with you about how bad they were managed. But, they paid our owed vacation and paid us for all our flying til the end. Not many airlines that close do that. Say what you will but I had better pay and benefits with Indy air for the 3 months after they shut down than Air Tran has on my first day of work.
I have never worked for a company that paid for hotel during in base training
If you dont like it then leave! I sure as hell dont want to fly with your sorry ass. What health benefits? I love people like you. Simple response for a simpleton. God forbid someone actually want to try and improve things. Put your blinders because I think the rest of your pilot group knows where your loyalty stands. If you dont like it then leave! I sure as hell dont want to fly with your sorry ass.

Medical starts the beginning of the first month you are there. I started at the end of the month and only had to wait 6 days for it to start.
401K/B starts after the first year, and from I can tell are B fund is pretty good compared to other airlines. Hopefully with the new contract it will go up, just like everything else will.
I may be a simpleton but at least I'm not a ************************* who calls people names on a computer. Maybe some day we'll meet and you can call me a simpleton to my face. For what it's worth I proudly display my union pin so blow me.
Amen to that.If all a person is going to do is bitch bitch bitch..then that person should find a different career that is more pleasing to him/her. Like maybe owning his/her own business.
Saving the profession???? Righhhht.
