My friend at AirTran was telling me that they opened up a mini crew base in MCO.

Can anyone give a little more info on that? Equipment type, seniority, future plans/expansion, etc.

Yeah . . . . for flight attendents, not for pilots.

We're in contract negotiations, so don't expect any big QOL improvements for a while. . . . unless they need something from us in the meantime.

Can you give any comments on the contract negotiations.

FO pay rates? CA rates? Any other changes whether for the better or worse?

Mediation starts 9/8/05. The NPA (union) has conducted extensive polling of the membership, and the negotiating team is focused on delivering a contract that addresses the issues the pilot group has said are important.

Since half of the pilot group has been hired in the past four years, you can bet that pay for junior pilots and QOL issues are high on the list.
