well that should save many people money on that sim prep! Wasn't it like a few hundred dollars? You would think that would relax people a bit. Then they can just concentrate on letting the interviewers see the real them.
The sim prep was optional although most candidates did it just to get some experience in the sim before taking their actual ride at the interview.
This is official - AirTran Airways as of last week will not be doing a sim ride as part of the interview process. Also, I just had a buddy who interviewed and confirmed that the sim ride is history.
I guess the company sees the light that a sim ride in some kind of non-motion sim of an airplane (MD88/90) they don't even fly is kind of ridiculous and a waste of time and money for them. Now that AirTran is about to step into the category of Major Airline, they know their interview numbers will be going up dramatically.
Back when AA was still interviewing, they used a 707. UAL took top honors in the Bogus category by using a mickey mouse Frasca. I for one am happy to see the sim ride gone at AirTran. Now the interviewers can concentrate on what's important...getting to thoroughly know the candidate to see if he/she would make a good fit.
Just be yourself. They don't want a robot...they want an actual person who is going to take good care of their brand new airplanes and also take good care of their most valuable item...the customer.
Thanks for the conformation and taking the time to respond. I have an interview with them in the near future and this will help me focus my efforts. TX350
