I had a good friend from High School and her mother perish on that flight in the glades.

Very sorry to hear about your friends mother. It is a shame that the whole thing happened.

What steeler fan was saying is that Airtran is NOT Valuejet, Valuejet was on the verge of extinction and bankruptcy when Leonard came in. All new management, all new Airplanes, all new philosophy and 7 straight years of profitability! There is not one hint of Valuejet left at Airtran (besides a few pilots and fa's).

Listen, there are problems at every airline, and there are some problems here at Airtran but the Valuejet arguement gets old and tiring. You mention Southwest or American but no-one ever brings up their crashes, or mistakes. But you mention Airtran and people start screaming "Valuejet" and "Everglades" which by the way was caused by incompetant contract maintenance putting oxygen generators in the cargo hold NOT the fault of any Valuejet employee or pilot.
