Now, of all times, is the point to ensure that all pilots vote. If an apathetic attitude prevails, then the FO's will be steamrolled. An active voice and active participation is critical for success for the quality of life for ALL pilots. Senior Captains deserve a pay raise. ALL FOs' NEED a pay raise. Vote and make sure that the NPA is aware that SCOPE is as important to ensure that your upgrade does not slip further away. This company can be a huge success and so can our careers if we stay focused and stay involved. Poor turnout in the vote does not send a strong signal to the NPA or the company that the FO's are serious. Collectively we can raise the bar. There is no reason to accept less than 2/3 pay. I would hope that every FO takes the time to vote... you may not know much about the people that are running for office but have to sent them an email? Please take a couple of minutes to invest in your future and let MB know your opinions and desires and volunteer in some capacity.

I agree, but we need to get the word out to our fellow line pilots. The fine folks that post here are the same ones voting and trying to improve our position. Most others don't even know that flightinfo or BD's website even exists.

We must educate in the crewroom and, while the workload is low, in the business end of the airplane. Crew swaps are a great time as well. Just a simple "Good bird, hey, did you guys vote yet?", can go a long way to reminding someone that there's actually an election going on.

Ra, Ra, Ra. Good for you.

Just making sure you understand N., I was not bashing AT pilots or bragging. Just stating a fact. A fact that starting glaring very brightly after the first and second TAs. I began to realize that the unity that you and I enjoyed at our former company (both with the pilots and with management) was going to be harder to achieve at AT. It just never felt comfortable.

However, I wish all the fantastic folks that I worked with the best of luck. In fact, I am still real good friends with a bunch of folks there.

Why don't we reinstate the webboard on the NPA website. That way all of our pilots would have a way to communicate our ideas amongst each other. No one will be able to hide behind their avatar. There would be more meaningful discussion because of that, and more of our pilots would get involved. There is only a small percentage of us that come to flightinfo.

Agreed! Also, how about the fact that he's not happy with the current pay rate. Didn't he know that when he filled out the ap, sent it in, interviewed, and accepted the job offer?

Using this logic, none of us should expect any improvement in a future contract. The purpose of contract negotiations is to improve the quality of life for all union members, not just those who have been around the longest. Bottom line is that if the company can afford to pay industry standard (or better) wages for the management team, it can afford industry standard wages for its pilots.

Newnan, needs to grow a pair.

If I didn't have a pair, I'd have voted yes for that POS, taken the money and ran, and then I'd at least be makin more money sitting here reading your whiny rants. Get off your a$$es and do something, make your feelings known. Stop bitchin on this board and complaining about things you have absolutely no control over (the current CBA), and start making a difference with the things you can control (the language of a new TA). Why was there only one FO fired during the negotiations? If this was as serious as you all make it out to be and would do more than bitch on an anonomous web site, there should have been 10, 15, or even 20 of you canned for any number of reasons. Instead, you all let one guy do all the work and were satisfied that you did all you could by voting no. The F/O's and junior capt.s here are the ones that need to grow a pair. They're going to need them if we ever get to the point when we can start walking in circles with signs.

In the meantime, if you want to make a difference now, ask everyone you come in contact with if they have voted yet. Educate them on the candidates and if you have to, spell how exactly how they can get in contact with them to ask questions for themselves to make educated decisions, if it's not to much work for the betterment of your career (it's a little more work than just bitchin on a website and hoping someone else takes the lead).
