delta's current plan may work on airtran, but what are they going to do when airtran goes under and southwest invades the open gates? delta will really wish they had lowly airtran taking up space instead of someone with billions in the bank.

Southwest won't have to invade ATL. They will get all the gates they want in ATL with the merger.

Delta thinks they have alot of competition in ATL now. Wait until Southwest puts their gate utilization plan into effect in ATL. I would bet that Southwest could squeeze at least 300 departures a day into our current ATL gate footprint.
