Can't believe AirTran managed to be 6th now that SW runs most of our ramps...
 
Yep........... based upon feedbacck from the Captains that I have flown with the operations relationship between ground and flight has been poor for the last five years. Much more adverserial and not much respect for captains authority. Vdv has much culpability in this fiasco and the lack of urgency is prevalent throughout. Dispatch you with landing fuel of 5.2 for a flight into a hdta airport only to have you sit for 15 minute waiting to get a gate and marshallers to show up and then eventually plug in ground power.
 
Southwest's quarterly metric for ontime performance is 83 percent. Obviously 76.3 is not going to cut it. Clearly this is not only the fault of the pilots for not cutting more corners and taxiing faster. But the fault of the flight attendants too. Fortunetly they are documented daily by the ops agents for their contributions to the airlines tardiness. We know it's not mx fault because they have perfected the art assigning most problems to an MEL and tracking number instead of dealing with it at a maintenance base. At least we are last. No where to go but up.
 
Maybe it's because they run on "herb time"

Sunday in BWI from an ops agent "The only airplanes we can get out on time are AT"

ROTFLMAO. We've been on time out of BWI once in the last two months. Once. Look at the DOT figures - This didn't start last week. Printing the release requires a cast of thousands and the ramp is ........ I'm going to shut up now.

BWI is a disaster.
