I know that wasn't the only guy fired unjustly. So hostage taking and unjust firings were kinda the norm on the AirTran side. It's not at all that way at SW, thank God.

He was suspended not fired.
There were a few guys that were fired and a few did get their jobs back.
The work environment was hostile however and the firing threat was always there. During that time it was unpleasant to work here. It did improve to the extent that it was no longer a primary concern.

The decision is ultimately SWAPA's. If ALPA files with the NMB and SWAPA objects, it's unlikely that the Board will grant ALPA's request.

The pilots of SWAPA just voted to change SWAPA's Constitution in order for SWAPA to be able to represent more than one pilot group with more than one CBA. This change was requested by the current BOD so it looks to me that SWAPA won't object to any request by the NMB to take over the representation of the AirTran side of the partition.
