Ty's been quiet because he's been found out.

Whatever, buddy.

Ty's been quiet because I don't think that this tit-for-tat is beneficial and is a waste of time. No one is changing anyone's mind on here.

It's like Murphy's Rule:

"Never try to teach a pig to sing. It won't work, and it will only annoy the pig".

There aren't any singing pigs on here, but there sure are a lot of annoyed ones, myself included.

Thanks for sharing this telling thread.

These are the quotes that are bothersome,

the point remains- the signature tactics of playing chicken on the ramps and ignoring ground control instructions to give way are getting obnoxious.

The point I am making is that the bigger SWA gets, the bigger its warts get, "friend", and the more obvious they become.

We are all for working within the system, but cutting people off on the ramp and pretending to not hear ATC in today's crowded environment is a dangerous game. Sure, it's OK when only one company is doing it, and the rest of us are watching out for you, but what happens when all of us start doing it? Then what?

These false accusations are alarming. Even being five years old is how this likely soon to be pilot for SWA views his future co-workers. I can only assume he is not alone in sharing these types of egregious claims. Hopefully he is one of a very small minority for ALL of our sakes.

To be clear, these observations are plainly not true. I have flown solely in the SWA system for almost two decades and have NEVER seen anything of this sort. Our pilot group is at least as professional as any other.

B) That SWA wasn't "'lil ol' SWA" anymore now, and in their new position as "the 800 pound gorilla" a little humility might go a long way (also true). Kinda like the puppy who grows into a Great Dane and thinks he's still a little puppy.
Great Danes are definitely chick magnets. I've pulled more fine a$$ at the park with the help of my Dane, HoHo.

Oh, give it a rest already. All this sanctimony is wearing thin.

I'm looking forward to working for SWA, just like I looked forward to working for AirTran. I don't relish the SLI integration, and neither do you.

Some of you guys really are taking this stuff w-a-a-a-y too seriously.

You might be looking forward to working for SWA but I bet they are not looking forward to working with you. It must feel terrible to be going to work for a company knowing that nobody wants you and they know who you are. Enjoy.

Do you really dislike your co-workers at AirTran that much that you feel the need to come on this joke of a message board and bad mouth them? If so, I can't believe that the good people of SWA would be eager to put you among their ranks either. It seems as though you would be more toxic than any ALPA card carrying pilot. Look up: back stabber or Benedict Arnold

All you have been doing on this board is slandering Airtran. I find it hard to believe you work for our airline in any capacity. Your join date is, 2-26-11, with 2.26 posts a day. Why do you feel the need to show up now and degrade your fellow employees as often as you do?

Good to see that one of my, "co-workers" is posting again! I'm of course not implying that you aren't a "real AirTran employee" but hypothetically speaking, if I wanted to pose as a, "Southwest employee" on this board, what kind of screen name do you suggest I use? How about Rawhide, Dr. Pepper or maybe Alamo?!? Thanks in advance my, "AirTran co-worker" friend!!!!

"boeing717" is not an AirTran guy. He's probably Malibu/Mastercraft from APC....just stirring the pot as usual.

Oh yeah Lear's been laying it on thick alright. At least he's learned.

After reading this, without looking at your avatar profile I knew 1) You'd have a couple of military aircraft under aircraft flown and 2) You'd have 737 listed. "He's learned"? Jeez, you guys take yourselves WAY to seriously. Every single one of us who flies for a living is only one downturn in the industry away from the unemployment line. I sincerely hope you all can work it out and find a way to work together...and I mean that with no sarcasm or arrogance.

Kind of like the difference of getting a dog as a new puppy vs getting it after its been abused.

Good luck to SWA.[/QUOTE]

This is true; however, we can also respond to positive feedback by management instead of the hostility we have enclosed by the AAI management. Just be kind and patient.

I don't need any time at all. I come to work happy and go home happy just as I will at LUV. Its just a job and I refuse to get spooled up over it. I still like what I do and a few *********************************** managers aren't going to screw that up for me. I do look forward to working for GK as he appreciates his workers. I think you would be surprised at how few AAI guys are militant. It is a small minority. YMMV

Getting back to the original question that was asked at the start of this thread about the culture here at Airtran. One person summed it up pretty good. If you are senior and a line holder, life's pretty good. If you are junior or on reserve, not so good. We come to work, we do our jobs and we go home. Most do not do any more than that.. Some do. Of course that's only from a pilots perspective. Can't speak for other work groups. Also someone brought up that we share a crew room with our flight attendants. Yeah that's true, but you wanna knwo why? Cause there is nothing in either contract, ours or the flight attendants, that says they have to have seperate crew rooms. In other words if they don't need to spend the money contractually, they won't.
We've seen more profits than loses during my 13 years here and for the most part we have the same management team since I started at Airtran, so regardless what most think of them, they seem to know what they're doing. Most of the time. Not all of the time, but most. I do have to say though, that they do spend money on IT and technology stuff. That, no one can complain about.
Hope that helps you.

I think the reason behind it is so that those Pilots who have to make child support payments to flight attendants can hand them the check each month in person, thus saving quite a bit company-wide in postage expenses.

Win/Win! :D

Lear 70 too.... laying low.

Don't know what you mean, I post almost daily.

For those complaining about the moderating, why don't you try reporting the post? The board isn't controlled by AirTran pilots, I'm the only AirTran employee who moderates. The rest of the mods and the webmaster work for other companies and not everyone reads every thread. I certainly don't have time for that,,,

This is the first time I've read this thread in a week. Didn't know it had turned into a mud slinging fest...

Didn't your profile used to say JBLU?

LOL! Yeah, he tried to keep up that ruse for months but couldn't help but give himself up. I wonder what other screen names he is using or if he ever flew for the Navy?
