Just came back from the AirInc "Meet-and-Greet" in DC and spoke with S.G. from AirTran and gave her my resume.

Got a pretty nice response from her when she perused my resume. I have all the competitive numbers which they talked about, so here is the million dollar question:

How long does it take from the seminar to phone call ?? Anyone have any experience in getting the interview from the AirInc conference, if so how long did it take.

I realize that there are many variables in play, but I'm just trying to get a feel for things. Been sending my stuff in for 3+ years now and have pretty competitive numbers.

Still waiting.

It took a while!

I attended Air Inc. job fairs at both Atlanta last November and Dallas in January. I turned in resumes at both (an updated one in January of course) to the nice AirTran folks. After months of not hearing anything, they dropped off my scope. Then week before last, out of the blue, I got the call for an interview. I had no internal recommendation(s), so my guess is the call came from repeated job fair attendance. I guess patience is the key... good luck!

I asked them when I should expect a possible call. They said in 6-9 months which is about right on with what happened to you.

The only way to get in with AirTran is with a budy walking in your resume or air inc according to the recruiters

I had positive comments at 2 AirInc conferences also - summer 2003 and April 2004. I always left the conferences with a good vibe, but no word back yet. Same applies for AWA. Sounds like some other folks have had some luck though.

That sounds SO weird... S.G. at AirTran. :)

Now if only I can get her to "fast track" my resume after buying her all those drinks the last several years... ;)

If you don't know anybody at AT then the job fairs are the key. I just finished my SIC check today and am very glad to be here. I knew nobody when I applied but attended 3 WIA confs. Of our new hire class of 14 everybody but me was recommended by an inside source. All that to say so far this has been a good choice for me and it IS possible to get an interview without somebody on the inside pulling for you.

Do you have a link for the WIA conference dates and places or any other job fairs than air, inc?
