Current company is now using AirSide Jepp bags, and placing Jepps, AOM, and FOM on the aircraft, doing away with the requirement for pilots to carry a standard pub bag. But, we'll need to continue to carry flashlight, as well as a small Jepp-sized book for updates and some guys might would want to use it for a NDB as well.

Has anyone already found a great solution to this? (Too old to waste energy trying to re-create the wheel)

Thanks

AirTran just started this program. One set of Capt. Jepps, FOM, AOM is in the Captain's Flight Kit. One set of F/O Jepps, Alternatate Airport Jepps, and High/Low/International Route Charts Package are in the F/O's Flight Kit. Both kits remain on the aircraft and are updated by Tech. Pubs personnel automatically.

AirTran also issued each pilot a required small seperate Pilot Supplement binder (with tabs) for FOM Bulletins, AOM Bulletins, and Jepps Mid-Cycle.

What I do is carry this small binder, along with the required flashlight, in my laptop computer case which always stayed with me in the cockpit anyway. Problem solved.

The uniform company will be offering "fanny packs" that will hold a flashlight plus credentials. The AOM/FOM binder will fit into a folded up USA Today. The laptop solves the problem of carrying your vinatge porn collection so you no longer need a flight bag.
