Are any 135 cargo operators able to take jumpseaters? And if so how did you go about getting approval? SW just resinded our (AMF) ability to j/s with them because we can't reciprocate (thanks TSA). Right now we can only take UPS pilots and that's only on UPS runs. Awhile back we got a memo from TSA saying our mechanics weren't allowed to ride in our a/c over 12.5 anymore. Big security threat there. Where do they find these morons?

We are going through the process with the TSA to get jumpseaters allowed back on. They stopped us from taking anyone because they had direct access to the cockpit while jumpseating until we could get "new" pat down information out to our pilots. From my understanding the packet should go out very shortly and will require us to sign it and send it back to take riders again. Hopefully this will happen this week, and if so we might have the j/s back as soon as next week. We will see though, just remember, it has nothing to do with us or the people who want to ride. It is all the TSA ...AGAIN! Please don't give up on us, we will have it back shortly.

Hello,
If we are flying for a company that does direct AirNet contract work, may we jumpseat?

Kaman,

Only if you are on our reciprocal list for right now. Maybe someday we will get our open seat policy back, but until then you must be on the list.

Thanks,
Hopefully, things will work out and you guys will be able to do that once again. I know we'd be happy to carry y'all if you needed a lift.

For those who want to jumpseat airnet we should be able to start accepting other airline pilots very soon. We recieved a memo last week saying that they are working on a pat down procedure. That should be interesting. I cant wait to see the expression of some SWA capt when I ask him to assume the position so I can pat him down like some common criminal. I guess its worth it if we can keep the jumpseat for everyone. However I will draw the line at the body cavity search. That would be a tough sell unless it was advertised as a free prostate screening. Even with that I doubt that people would flock to us;) .

Are they seriously going to require pilots to pat down jumpseaters? They going to send you all to the police academy to learn how to do it properly? What happens when you get a male pilot and a female j/seater? (insert strip search jokes here) I think the last time AMF was trying to get jumpseats restored there was talk about having us all carry those hand wand metal detectors. This has gone beyond absurd, even for the TSA. I don't even want to think about what they'll come up with next.

There was talk of using wands, but all I have heard lately is the "pat down" procedure. Maybe I am taking this " pat down" reference a little to literally.
Has there been talk of screening the passengers on charter, fractional, or corporate aircraft since they all have access to the #######? I mean if we are going to be harassed by the TSA it seems they should be consistant (I know its the government, what were you expecting fair and equitable treatment/ common sense??)

OK you can "Pat me down" but I want dinner and a reach around first:eek: . Thanks for trying to get us home guys and as allways there is always room on Skyway for ya.

Do I get a pat down if you ride with us? Please I ain't been home in a week;)

Well, last i heard the procedure was approved by the TSA awhile ago, but because some MORONS that fly with us(<--read that as dumb a$$ pilots of our own) who are unwilling to do the "pat down" procedure, HR has now gotten involved to see if it is something we can do that doesn't break any kind of ethical or moral rules....blah blah blah. Comes down to a few pricks $crewing the rest of us out of the ability to give you a ride home guys. I am truly sorry about that, but hopefully they will come up with a solution shortly...like either firing or maiming those who are not willing to do it.

Just to let all you airnet guys how ride SWA around know...I heard that SWA has given us until June 1st to fix this problem or they are suspending our j/s priveleges with them. So lets all get a move on here and make this work. That is less than a month from now!!!!

What are we going to do guys?!?!?!?!?

I recently rode SWA from MDW to BWI and the captain was wondering when we were going to be able to carry them again. (If you happen to browse this forum, thanks again for the ride!)

I hope its soon! I was wondering if SWA would do that after I heard that AMF's privilges we pulled.

I second starchkr...let's get this thing done!!! However, something that includes HR, probably isnt going to move that fast!

Jumpseats

Ok first i will be nice and ask any of you guys with airnet who said they did not want to do the pat down for whatever reason please reconsider. I have jumpseated everyweekend that I have worked with airnet to MCO with SWA to see my girlfriend and i really rely on this to keep my sanity so please please reconsider. Ok if that did not persuade you let me give you this warning. If we loose our jumpseat privelages with SWA because a couple of you pieces of S#@t wont pat someone down maybe once a month I will hunt every one of you down, and you better hope i dont find you. Happy flying
