Airnet in DTW

Just curious if hired by airnet the likely hood of getting DTW and what is the schedule like. Thanks.

I don't know, but for what it's worth, I don't recall seeing DTW on bid sheets that often at all. I know enough about that place though to advise that you get a nice dependable handgun and brush up on your target practice in advance. I'm surprised our planes don't end up on blocks with the chrome spinners missing.

If I am remembering correct, the two pilots that are on the two runs out there are on the higher end of the prop side and prob going to upgrade soon to a lear. You never know what is going to be out on the bid sheet until it comes out. They might like rock city and may be picky with what lear sic spots they bid, so who knows.

I know they have tactical taxi procedures. Any less than 60kts on taxiway victor is unheard of. Just makes sure you turn and follow the taxiways if they give you the "other" taxi route.

I would guess that the two DTW pilots are indeed getting close to upgrading, though I don't have any idea how picky they are with lear bidding.

One route has a show around 8pm and goes until a little before 7am, mix of 'jo and 'van

The other one has a show around 9pm and goes until right around 6am, baron only

Both are 4 day runs.

Yeah, that little side window is just the right size to stick your "gat" out sideways and return fire.

For almost any base in the props plan on initially being based somewhere you don't want to be, and most likely getting the base you want within 3-6 months. In MOST cases this seems work out. I turned down DTW for TEB right out of training and I am from CMH. No DTW for me thanks, even though approach girl rules. But more impotantlly if you plan on staying for the Lear there are no Jet bases in DTW.

Yeah, I fly that one of the runs out of Detroit and I should be gone in the next month or so. The other pilot, I don't know, she will probably stay there until she can get a Lear spot close to that area, since she doesn't want to move too terribly far away. Detroit as a base isn't too bad, I've never had any problems living here or with dealing with people that work in and around DTW. As far as gunfire, thats all bull********************. It's a base pay run, though, so don't think that you are going to get rich flying out of here.

Is this an expensive joke about DTW? I don't think DTW is as bad as some have put. It could be the 'perception thing.' I lived in Wayne in the '97 and it was not that bad. A lot of 'scars' around the city, though. Still, if you feel it is that bad then I suggest you go with your feelings. Without specific instances that you may have gone through, it may not be right to scare people away.
DTC, I am not sure if that is the code for Detroit City Airport, is a little bit rough. I remember when ProAir was operating out of there, one week end when many people left their vehicles in secure lots, fenced, on Monday there were two SUVs on the blocks. Not a single wheel escaped. That happens.

City airport is KDET. That airport isn't in the best part of town. DTW is abuot 25 minutes Sw of the actualy city of Detroit.

Detroit isn't that bad, It has its bad parts jsut like all big cities. I would much rather be there than in CMH. That place is a hole.
