There are a few instructors named in the lawsuit, I believe.

Good Point. I believe last I heard is that Will is trying to finish those up who were in the I/II program and not charging them for his services. (not including aircraft rental). Majority of instructors were lower time from what I have gathered so they likely will continue to instruct elsewhere.

Makes sense since most of them bought the "upgrade" course (which include the CMEL) and never got their CMEL. I even know a few that just got a CFII or CFI that didn't get both...dang...that's gotta suck

You can have a CFII independent of the CFI? How would that work??

Sure, you can have any instructor rating independent of each other. I got my CFII before the MEI or CFI. There would've been no ramifications if I'd decided to stop there. Or even if I got my CFII, and MEI.

I'm glad to see that depsite the bad and unfair circumstances right now, that there are still some stand-up individuals who are trying to help out and take care of some of the students!

My hat's off to those people!
