Most major airlines only count PIC time that you signed for the flight.

Does the CA time during CA-IOE count for this?

I know what the definition under the FARs are, just wondering if anyone has any idea what the airlines perceptions are.

if YOU sign the aircraft log during IOE, then you can log pic time. each airline is different in IOE procedures but if you are signing the logbook, log that time as pic and keep a photo copy of the log page if you desire.

Don't risk your career over a few measly hours! I signed for the A/C during IOE and was listed as PIC on the release. But, I was not released from training yet! So, I logged my IOE time as SIC and put a remark in the section to describe the time as Captain IOE. You are not official until released from the training department. Don't let anyone fool you. There are many FO's out there with types who did not make it through IOE . Splitting hairs on logging time will only get you in trouble. All the best, cheers, Wil
