I'd wait till training is done and see what the airline will buy for you. My airline purchased my rollerboard and had jepps binders for us. The rollerboard they bought me was a Travel Pro Crew6. The handle broke on my first trip with it and I'm still waiting on the warranty parts to arrive. As for the flight kit, I have a leather one for luggage works. I'd stick with the David Clarks for now but you might want something a little lighter as time goes on. Good luck!

Leaving my 135 job for a 121 job in 2 weeks. What will I need to buy, what works best for all you other guys?

-Jepps Binders, how many? What kind, 1", 2"?
-Flight case, what kind?
-Suit case, what kind?
-Headset, I have a DC, will that be OK?

Suit case? None needed. Just throw your "flip-flops" in your flight bag. All we ever do on layovers is run around naked in the woods anyway.

I made the jump from 91/135 to 121. It is probably the best thing I have done. Not all 135 or 91 corporate gigs are good. Mine was far worse than anything the airline has been able to do! So yes I am happy to work for the airlines. I make more money and have 10 times the time off.

just to confirm from prior posts...if you are going to be flying the CRJ....technically 18 by 8 is as big as you can go....you can get a ballistic thats a little bigger than that to fit but it is a squeeze...

So you're new to this business? So what airline hired you? I doubt a major did and I'd like to know what regional hired you since you posted this on the regional forum? You must have one crappy 135 job if you're leaving it for an uncertain 121 gig. Who's hiring at this time or is this flamebait?

I average 3-6 days off/ Month at my 135 Citation CA job right now. I can't take the schedule anymore. Oh, and the days that are on call sometimes are considered as days off, I don't see how it could be any worse.

I've instructed, flown freight (3yrs), and flown charter. Looking forward to 121.
