With all the different Aircrew ID Badges available out there (Jepp, Universal, and Arinc), which one does your operation use, and why?

Badges...we don't need no stinking badges!

Seriously though, we have IBAC IDs, but given the way we operate we really don't use them unless there's a "need".
 
We have IBAC badges - not convinced they are all that important but have always worn them as needed out of the country (never been asked to have them available). Easy to obtain
 
I wouldn't bother if domestic.

We only have them for a few Intl destinations that look at them and write the ID number on the Gendec and match that at arrival and departure. Always good idea to have one, even in Europe...but is a necessity in the Mideast, etc. No big deal.

IBAC/UV/ARINC - whatever is cheapest.

I actually make our badges using this place online, cheap, simple, customized to our company logo/colors and quick. https://www.fullidentity.com/ ... they even put a pretty hologram on it too. Works great for our ops throughout the middle east and asia.
 
Just have a Uvair badge on lanyard with home airport badge. Rarely use it. Crew luggage tags are strongly frowned upon where I work.

We use company issued badges, no problems. You're probably aware Dubai does not accept laminated ID's, but carrying US PP works fine.

Why would a dept. frown on crew ID bag tags?
 
IBAC- Quick turn over time and good guys. They will incorporate your company logo into the badge as well if that matters .

Easy targets as flight crew. Keeping s low profile security wise. No uniforms, no crew tags, try not to stand out any more than necessary.

This.

Many places do not wear the pilot crap - stripes, IDs, crew tags on everything, $12 polyester shirts, etc as to not stand out as targets.

I like that policy and did it for years, unfortunately now we are to wear the goofy uniform overseas, but I'd really prefer not to. I still just use a regular brass name tag on my bag with an email address, no CREW CREW CREW stuff with my USA address and pictures of my fancy Bizjet or business card from an evil Western entity.

However, some folks still think looking like a NYC Bellman gets you better service in all these faraway, exotic locales...(like it did in the 70's)...:(

While its usually pretty easy to tell who is a gringo, being discreet is always best policy IMO.

Many places want to see the photo embossed into the badge. If the card is laminated they feel as though another photo could be laid over the correct crew members' photo and then laminated.

No, mine says "GRUMMAN"...as any seasoned "G" pilot in the community knows its called....;)..and yes, and I have the jacket, hat etc

But really, I have a picture of a corporate pilot, well known on these boards, who took his family Christmas picture decked out in his flight department logo/Gulfstream windbreaker.

No $hit....now thats pride!
