Sorry guys, I know this isn't a "regional's" question but I know someone has the answer. Anyone know of any aircraft "bone yards" out in the Phoenix/Tucson area that actually let you tour the grounds? I'm down here for a few days and just starting the internet research... Thanks guys.

I just came from PHX and I saw a Mesaba mechanic there and he told me there is now 12 Avros at Pinal. As far as visiting that bone yard, you can't drive onto the airport because there is a guard there. You can however fly into that airport but you just can't wonder around. A good boneyard to visit is the one at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson. I think they still have tours given by the Pima Air and Space Museum. http://www.pimaair.org/

Don't walk around the Marana Pinal Airpark area. If you fly in there, don't stop and make sure no one sees you with a camera. The US Govt uses Marana for some of their CIA training and they love to confiscate cameras.

check out the Pima Air Museum in TUS. They also do tours of the Davis Mothman AFB boneyard and the nuke missle silow also.

Thanks guys. You all rule.

Hey Mesabi miner? Were you ever a crew member on the Mesabi Miner?

I was gonna ask that, I've never been a crew member, but have been on board several times when she would come through ESC.
