Airbus To Update The A-340

Airbus said that since they didn't sell many A-340's in 2005 (15) compared to Boeing's 777 sales (154), that they (airbus) were going to look into upgrading their A-340 to make it more attractive to the airlines. While Airbus touts their 4 engine A-340 as 'safer' over long routes vs 2 engines such as the 777, the airlines aren't buying it (pun intended).

Airline sales departments are just like used car salesmen. What ever it takes to make a sale they will try pushing that aspect to make the sale.
