The hijackers were not wearing blatantly Middle Eastern dress, they did not have beards, and they were not running around shouting "Shut up, infidel dog!" If you choose to believe that prospective terrorists have all the intelligence and subtlety of a Bugs Bunny antagonist, you play right into their hands. While you're busy looking for a damned caricature, you run the risk of being outsmarted by a group whose M.O. is... and this is important, now... to avoid drawing attention to themselves.

I heard today that the Captain and First Officer refused to get back on the flight if those pax got back on the plane. The pax did and the pilot's did not.
