Gents: for the love of god go some place where you get more bang for your pound of flesh. I know low time guys sometimes have rose colored glasses on but after a few months at a place like this you'll wish to high heaven you flew for Great Lakes or Ameriflight or Coex or somewhere with substance. Sure pay your dues but don't give yourself away. If you have to load cargo, fuel a/c or turn wrenchs its a low grade establishment...not to say that doing those things are bad but there are a ton of places out there that don't make you do those things. Never work for free...you wouldn't unload the supply truck at McDonalds if you were a fry cook would you? Believe me, when you get in the door the view changes. Good luck.

I'll second T-Gates. Everything that I have heard about ACC has been nothing but positive, and I am not afraid to do a little work. Thanks for the advice but some of us have chosen to fly here for more than just the low hiring and quick upgrade oportunities. We are looking for something a little different than just running to the regionals.

Blingair, I have to agree with T-Gates on this one. ACC is in my opinion a great place for a pilot to gain experience and upgrade to captain in half the time of most regionals. It might not be as glamorous, but it does have it's advantages.

ACC bought one of the Falcon 20s that I was flying at my old job. Last I heard they had 3 Falcons based out of MKE. Who knows, ACC might be a good place for some young pilot to build some turbojet PIC fast.

WOW.... i've been readin' this thread forever it seems, but somebody finally rubbed me enough to get me off my lazy rump and post. I don't know where and what expirence blingair has with ACC, but I will have to say I found what he claims is innacurate.

Shure you might have to hump freight on a UPS run, or an ad-hoc trip, but that is the nature of the business. I'm sure there are people that think jetblue pilots are a disgrace for having to help clean the cabin also! In my short but enjoyable time with ACC, I found they are probably one of the best part 135 outfits out there. ACC is ran, and does business, better than most part 121 supplemental airlines. I was never asked to do anything outside of the regs and company manuals, and I had management go to bat for me several times when I needed them to. That's not something you find in many 135 outfits nowdays. The training was excellent, the equippment was well maintained, and they really make you feel at home. ACC was the first place in my career I hated to leave.

I also met some really great guys like S.A, E.B, T-Gates, and Capt. Lemmywinks. ACC has some really great people working there, and we all know the value of networking... If you are a lower time pilot and you get paired with a Captain that will teach you something, you will learn things about flying that Embry-Riddle grads only dream about.

So, if your a motivated low to mid time pilot looking to build quality time then ACC is your place. Where else can you upgrade into a two-crewed airplane(for the motivated pilot, upgrade somewhere close to 135 minimums), get a type(you didn't have to pay for), build turbine PIC time, and get paid the same or better than your commuter peers? And if you don't think flying an Irish S**tbox in the crud, comming out of YIP on a cold christmas morning dosen't make you a better pilot then you are sorely mistaken. Learn to FLY, than learn all that gee-wiz computer stuff.

I guess what i'm saying is ACC is a good place, and anybody wanting to fly good airplanes for a good company should give it a try. Few places I have been I would recommend, but ACC I recommend 100%

I am guessing your the kinda guy that looks down on a pilot who flies a J3 when you jump out of your shinny jet.

You have no idea what you are talking about with this company. I will join the band wagon to say you are wrong and are acting like a troll.

Yeah, your right I have fueled our airplanes. I have jumped on top of the shorts and gassed it before. I have grabbed a fuel hose and fueled up the other wing on the Falcon when there is only one fuel guy. Does this mean I work at a low grade establisment. No, it does not. It means I want to get the job done and make our trip go as safe and fast as possible.

Yeah, I load cargo and so does the guy I fly with. You know that's funny...that is how ondemand works on small airplanes. Its called teamwork.

In the on-demand business we try to stay away from bling, and if he does not want to be making $100/k per year in 10 years he will stay away from the on-demand business. He will probably find there a lot of other places out there that get a real turn off during hte interview when they are told "Its not my job" And Wankel I will bet you are paid a lot more than places flying the "Its not my job" RJ's.
