And, while you are at it, like any good future pilot, investigate that airline. Check into its standing in the regionals. See how people will treat you as you strut down the halls in ORD, chest puffed out, hat cocked to the side, swaggering after your first 10 kt crosswind landing.. See if wearing your ID will get you the fame, the chicks, the money. And see if stepping over another regional pilot groups backs, like Air Whiskey and TSA, will get you further than by going to an operation like CHQ, Skywest, Comair, TSA, AirWhiskey, Mesa... We are all swimmers in this little pond called regionals, which, sadly enough, we have created mainly by ourselves. A veritable swamp, where we crawl over eachothers backs to get one up... Will you, future Birdman, have the integrity to stop that crawl and tell these fine folks at langair that, NO, you will hold out for a while, put off getting to sit in that fine piece of racehorse machinery at FL390, and, while there is no shame in getting ahead, you will wait until an outfit that isn't the bain of this small industry calls you.. WIll you be that kind of junior birdman, or will you put your boots right on and hustle over the backs of those before you, like some strange 3 eyed amphibian crawling out of the primordial soup... Just remember, though, that many of those who once crawled that way never made it to the standing phase..... And still don't.....Peace out....
