Link? How soon until it goes into effect? I can already feel the chill this is going to put on the whole industry.

Goes into effect immediately. If you haven't yet turned 60 today, then your new age limit is 65. The greedy geezers have screwed us all over.

This is absolute BS! Did you people ever take a money management class? Most of you who are for it have been making well over six figures (even after 9/11) for the past 20 years and you still can't figure out how to retire? Thats pathetic! Also... how is changing the age to 65 not age descrimination? or should we all be ready for you all to start playing that card it 5 years :(

Everyone knew the game when they started- age 60 and you were gone. If you are not ready for retirement by age 60, regardless of what age they mandate for retirement, you'll still not be ready. Everyone knows how unstable this industry is, and that should have been accounted for as you accrued funds for your retirement throughout your years of service. Bottom line, More work for less money- and shame on ALPA for supporting this. Even if they KNEW it was going to happen anyway, they should have sided with the MAJORITY of the ALPA membership, and not supported it. Props to APA for at least voicing out against this.

I would tell you to act your age, but I don't really want you to drop dead.

Childish repsonse and not unexpected. You haven't a clue about my age or what I do for a living. Now again...get over it as it's no more than a blip on your whole career. Whaaa Whaaa, I'm not going to make Capt. this year!

"Fair Treatment for Experienced Pilots Act".

Total crap. The goverment doesn't care about experienced pilots. If they did then the airlines couldn't hire 250hr wonders.
Airline managment is responsible for deteriorating this industry and now we have this band aid fix from congress for 5 years? It's all crap. And it's another reason why ALPA need to just go away.
