Geez....some people really need to just sit back and take a deep breath.

I'm sure this event isn't going to have a ton of people attending. But to the few who have been working on this for over 17 years, they should be congratulated for thier tenacity and their organization. They did it right, with their continuous visits to WAshington DC, they made every representative aware of this issue.

Foir the opposition, it is hard to overcome a 17 year headstart, especially when one knows that the international community is making the change. Once that happened, you had to know....I mean, you just had to know that the change was gonna cvome to this country too. Is there anyone out there who really didn't think the age would change in the U.S. after the ICAO change took place?

While the APAAD guys took their fight to the halls of congress, the pilots against all this decided to fight it out on web boards and crew room discussions...seems congress doesn't spend too much time on FI.com. Seems nobody or very few wanted to organize to put forth any credible opposition to this rule change

A 390-0 vote in the House and Unanimous consent in the Senate says it all....the oppositioin couldn't even get one token "no" vote...not one.

Maybe that is what stings so much...

A Federal Law has been changed , no small feat, no matter how you look at it. If you can't get this resloved within yourself, you really need to go see someone...get some help....Therapy.....

And, if this age change is the absolute worst thing that has happened in your life, then you have lived a verrrry good life, because there are many out in the USA who have it much, much worse than you do.

Good Grief!

Fact of the matter is that he is probably a pissed off miserable old man. He's probably the guy who hangs out at FBO's and tries endlessly to get people to listen to his BS aviation stories all the while no one gives a rats. We have those "gummers" at my local airport. What a shame. Just can't move on. Gonna try till the last day to recapture something that was lost A LONG TIME AGO.
You guys keep complaining about it,...this is going to be describing each of you in about 30 years...

Not to pick nits tejes, but there was no "vote" in the senate. Nobody even knows how many people were even in the room when the measure was punched through with no opposition.

That being said, we all know you wanted this to pass, and you won. Why don't you give it a rest and quit rubbing everybody's nose in it.

I suspect what happened here with Undaunted is he realized that a lot of people know who he is and that he is now an examiner and it wouldn't go over to well in OKC for them to find out that he was stirring up crap on the internet with any working pilot he could incite.

Probably got read the riot act at work, went home, got lit up on some cheap wine and confessed his sins of FI, trying to make up some of the ill-will he had engendered on here over the years.

The pro-change guys should try to show some class and leave it alone. You won, quit gloating and go enjoy your ill-gotten gains.

Please.

Ever heard of Karma, old timer? It means you're going to get yours. I have never seen the likes of your selfish, me-first attitude. Designated examiner? You aren't worthy of examining stool samples.Good day.

Does this mean you're not coming to my birthday party?

...in HNL sipping MiaTia’s,

What the heck is a Mia Tia? Some sort of gay cocktail?

I really love all of you, even the "get out of my seat crowd" from FI.

Denial, it ain't just a river in Africa. Nope, UF never benefitted from the age 60 rule as guys above him retired so he could make it to that lofty Left Seat. Instead, he was bestowed with the title of Captain by the Lady of the Lake and her scimitar Excalibur; so therefore, he was never a part of the "get out of my seat crowd" in his younger days.

Selfish idiot.

Selfish idiot.

Does this mean you're not coming either?

For those who have never known:

The Mai Tai is a well-known alcoholic cocktail purportedly invented at the Trader Vic's "Polynesian-style" restaurant in Oakland, California in 1944. Trader Vic's amicable rival, Don the Beachcomber, claimed to have created it first in 1933 at his own newly opened little bar (later a famous restaurant) in Hollywood. The Beachcomber's recipe is far more complicated than that of the Trader's and tastes quite different.
"Maita'i" is the Tahitian word for "good." The spelling of the drink, however, is two words.[1][2][3]
The Trader Vic story of its invention is that the Trader (Victor J. Bergeron) created it one afternoon for some friends who were visiting from Tahiti. One of them tasted it and cried out: "Maita'i roa!" (Literally "good very!", figuratively "Out of this world!") — hence the name.

Recipe

There are many recipes for mai tais. Seven of them, including three different versions of Trader Vic's, as well as the supposed original recipe of Don the Beachcomber, can be found here.

Nobody even knows how many people were even in the room when the measure was punched through with no opposition. ---->True...in that nobody knows how many were in the room when this vote took place. However, it is still considered a "vote". The Senate votes in this manner on many different issues...and be rest assured, it really is considered a "vote" . Also remember that in the House, even with a 390-0 vote tally, there were 45 Representatives that chose not to even vote on this issue.

Somehow, I'm left with the impression that there are many pilots who aren't all that familiar with Parlimentary Procedure as it applies in the way our elected Representatives conduct votes on the floor of the House and the Senate. And I'm sure many took Civics/Government classes in High School

That being said, we all know you wanted this to pass, and you won. Why don't you give it a rest and quit rubbing everybody's nose in it.--->I really wouldn't have posted had I not read all the whining going on....

Tell ya what....if I don't see any whining...then I won't post on this issue any more. But, if I see some whining going on...then I'll post.

If you are a copilot..........remember to put each and everyone of the gummers on your no fly list as they celebrate their 60th......kind of a little present don't you think..........

If it's so well known, why do you keep misspelling it? Did you have to look up "Mia Tias" in a dictionary after I mentioned it or what?

And you thought it was a "gay drink." That's funny!

Jesus H Christ, you're an idiot. Have you ever heard of the word sarcasm? I know what the drink is and how to spell it; I was bashing on you for misspelling it multiple times, but apparently you're too stupid to pick up on that.

You mean like the rest of the ICAO rules that we have exceptions to???

Come on...just because the euros want to shove something down the collective throats of the rest of world, we don't have to listen. We do it all the time. Now for some reason this becomes the 'right thing to do'?? What a bunch of bull$hit.

These morons should be treated as pariahs and undermined at every opportunity. They're a bunch of self-serving scumbags.

I think you thought a MaiTai it was a "gay drink" just as you wrote. I can only take you at your written word. And it says you thought it was a "gay drink." Why did you say it was a "gay drink" no matter how it was spelled. Incorrect spelling does not make anything "gay" yet you seem to think it does. Your spelling excuse just doesn't make sense, otherwise if spelling was a reason to bash someone, 100% of this board would be called "gay" by you. Come on, tell the turth, you thought it was a "gay drink" just as you posted.
