As for charter companies they are middle of the road: Here's the overview:

Pros: Good D/O who is hands off. Lots of flying (if you consider this a pro). The financial backing is very, very strong - your paycheck will never bounce and will always comes in on time. Per diem is above average for day and overnights and you can net $4,000 to $7,000 per year from it in your pocket. Retirement 401(k) available. Overall maintenance is good, not great, but good for 135 (you shouldn't die due to a mx issue). Only a few popups a year.

Cons: C.P. is poor at best. Pres./Owner doesn't listen to pilots and expects the world for peanuts. Dispatchers are on a steep learning curve right now. Pay is poor at best. Training loans in 1 year and 6 month contracts. Most equipment is older. They will hire nearly anyone - so sometimes you'll play flight instructor. Health insurance is a joke HSA.

If you want to just show up and do your job and not have take some of the industry-standard B.S. for sub-par pay (the standard in Scottsdale) it's a good gig. If you're looking to have an impact and help improve the operation you'll be wasting your time. It's a "foot in" the SDL market.

Hope that helps.
