Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about multi engine training at Groton CT from a company called Action Multi Engines. I am looking at doing there initial mulit as well as my commercial multi and then doing the single engine add on Commercial.. basically looking to bang out the multi and then find some right seat gig flying more for fun rather than career probably 5-8 days a months...

if anyone has any info on this training, let me know or if you know of any right seat gigs for low time pilots in the Boston area. (400tt with about 100 insturment). at the completion of this i will have about 20 hours multi..

thanks for any info you have

skykidjc...I did my multi commercial with them about 4 years ago. 3.9 hours of training and 1.6 for the checkride. 2 days worth of flying. Simply put, anyone can get the rating if you study your butt off. They will send you study info a month before your training date. Make sure you know your stuff cold. And I mean cold if you want to complete the training and make it worthwhile. All in all, the guys there were great. The owner, Brian (I think his name was), worked his tail off to make sure I made it through the program. Usually, its like a 3 day process, but there was weather moving in, so he moved the schedule around to allow me to do it in 2 days. Definitely well worth the $1500 I spent.

Right seat gigs with your time may be hard to come by in the Boston area. But you never know. If you're a flight nurse you probably have a contact or two that can help you. I've heard of pilots getting right seat gigs with 500-700 hours but all had either connections or were female. The majority were female. It will actually help your cause if you use the ladies room.

You could try Boston Air Charter out of OWD. They may even be who you might be working with now as a flight nurse?? Regardless, I think they like using part-time pilots year round with more flying in the summer.

Use those contacts to get a better idea of your marketability. Good luck.

hey guys.. thanks for the great info.. I am going to go down in May to knock those ratings and add-ons out.. Seems like they are a good shop and I have heard some decent things about them.. all and all I am looking forward to going.. i think it wil be cool to do the COMM in the seneca as oppsed to doing the ME as an add on and then doing the single add on.. More expensive, but alot more flying..

as for the Boston gigs. yea, we work with the guys from BAC.. They are a great group of really impressive guys who I enjoy working with immensly.. I may check that avenue but I would want to be certain there are no conflicts about me being employed both at Medflight and there.. I hear they are a great group of folks down there at OWD

anywho, wish me luck and thanks for the info
