Congrats .... but with your time 3000 plus hours you could have been a street capt or close to it. Starting pay there is like 42k.

ya know...i was gonna put in an exception for the ice, but was wondering how long it would take for someone to blurt that out.

FWIW...i disagree, the key is to not loiter in it and youll be fine

7 minutes!! BOOYA!!

Good sense beats equipment...that is true.

If all jobs paid the same, I'd fly the Van for life.

Ok so it's not exactly an ice breaker, how about a comparison to a Seneca II, my current aircraft.

wherever you go just stay away from the caravan....unless your flying in florida.....its a death trap in the winter

The same was said about the ATR. Know your airplane, know your (and your
airplane's) limits.

Some companies are taking care to cancel a flight on the first indication of
icing on a route for the Van.

I've heard that the Seneca handles ice quite well.

yeah thats what i just said.....van has a high limit on ice......so dont fly it in ice

not quite as you said...

saying it has a high limit as opposed to a "death trap in winter" arent exactly the same thing :smash:

...and again, i disagree. the van is a perfectly capable aircraft and nowhere near the "deathtrap" you so espouse. take a look at where they are operated on a daily basis and how many flights take place all winter long and you'll see what i mean :p

well i flew one in the great lakes area for 6 years.....at least one crashes every winter due to ice. But, if you like it then I like you. Cause as long as you or someone else is in it then that means i don't have to be.

my opinion...ill never fly one again. Ill quit flying before I have to fly that thing again.

Back to ACC or MAC: I think MAC's health insurance is pretty expensive for a family guy- if that's your situation. Not sure about about ACC though. Anyone?

I cannot comment on the family insurance....however for a single person...
