"ACA REPORTS 47.4% INCREASE IN OCTOBER 2002 TRAFFIC
Increased RPMS a Reflection of Larger RJ Fleet
As ACA acquires more regional jets, it’s able to carry more passengers—and that simple arithmetic is reflected in the October 2002 traffic report. ACA generated 258.2 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in October, a 47.4 percent increase over the same month last year, while available seat miles (ASMs) increased to 380.3 million, a 20.5 percent increase. In the preliminary United Express and Delta Connection passenger traffic results for October 2002, load factor was 67.9 percent versus 55.5 percent in October 2001. A total of 664,126 passengers were carried during the month, a 46.5 percent increase over the same month last year.
For the ten months that ended October 31, 2002, compared to the same period in 2001, RPMs grew to 2.3 billion, an increase of 55.9 percent, while ASMs were 3.6 billion, a 38.0 percent increase. The company carried 5,811,697 passengers for the ten months ended October 30, 2002, compared to 4,001,944 in 2001, an increase of 45.2 percent on a year-over-year basis."
