I'll second the C130 troop seat feel, especially in that 50 seat RJ that isn't more than a few years old. I would have stood up the whole flight (except for t/o and landing of course), but, there wasn't any headroom.

The original 328jets had black boots. From what I understand they just made ours out of grey rubber for aesthetic purposes.
