The company was growing (expanding). Nobody was retiring, as nobody stayed there long enough to retire back then. Most of us younger pilots looked at the job as a stepping stone to somewhere else. The older guys (at most in their early 50's) were just marking time till the place folded up and they had to move on to the next job.

Most of the nifty fifty couldn't get a job anywhere else. Remember, these guys first have to pass an interview something they never did when working for Air Midwest Charter, and second there is the small issue of them passing a psyche test not to mention a physical.

What is your idea of younger? I was 30 when I was hired in 93 I up graded 4.5 years later in 98 with no plans to leave ever.

I keep thinking it's gonna be like the casino in Vegas Vacation with Chevy Chase, the one were him and his Cousin Eddy dig up Eddies money and go to. Games like War and other kid stuff...

Are you referring to the 87 counties that voted in the smoking ban???? They have taken away strippers and smoking and are working on the pay day lenders -- I am a huge supporter of the casino but what has happened in Ohio in the past few years that gives you any idication that there will be a casino in Wilmington (or anywhere else in the state)???

God I'm glad I live close enough to Kentucky to spend my money there.

The difference between this and the smoking ban is everyone in the state was effected. With the casino, the other 87 counties won't care because it isn't in their backyard. The last I heard, over 60% of Ohio voters are in favor of the casino.

Did the stripper ban actually go through? I thought it got sidelined.

Actually I don't know.... I thought it did go thru but then it was challenged in court - not sure what the status is of it today. There was an activist group fighting against it called the "Dancers for Democracy" - I thought that was kind of humorous as they called themselves "The Double D's"
