ABX is Accepting Résumés
ABX Air, Inc., formerly Airborne Express, is accepting résumés by mail. Pilots may submit their résumé to the attention of Cassey Milburn, Senior Recruiter, 145 Hunter Drive, Wilmington, Ohio, 45177.

Pilot minimums include 2,500 hours total time, 1,000 hours multi-engine, and 500 hours turboprop or jet. Check their Web site at www.abxair.com for further information.

UPS is Accepting Online Résumés
United Parcel Service (UPS) is accepting résumés online. Go to www.upsjobs.com. Under the heading Full-Time on the left-hand side of the screen, select 'Create Résumé/CV’. Complete the online information and paste your résumé in the space provided at the bottom.

1 week ago, UPS said zero for 2004

I attended the AirINC job fair in Dallas on 1/17/04 and UPS said NO HIRING for 2004. Janice Johnson from Pilot Recruitment briefed 500 folks and said zip for 04. In fact at the job fair, UPS would not even keep resumes or cover letters for dudes/dudettes that had them ready. Can we get one of our UPS buds to give us the skinny ... is there any training scheduled or is UPS just collecting names of folks who are out there?

The above poster is right on about UPS. As for the UPS "create your app" thats been their for years. I've had my stuff on there since June 2000 and update every other month. It's nothing new.

I'm not sure about ABEX. I was supposed to interview with them in the summer of 2001 then they furloughed and the you know what hit the fan so I lost. I wonder if they will call me when they start again. I've also kept updating there too.

I forsee more furloughs as the DC8's disappear.

I would agree with you but they have pulled one 8 out of bone yard row and have been told not to park any more.
(my understanding)

Also my buddies tell me that unless they get additional lift, there is no room to grow........so go figure why they would be parking a/c keeping people on furlough if they expected growth.........You have to assume that growth is not projected..........So IMHO look elsewhere!

I guess that the 767's (either 2 or 4 I am not sure), they are reciving this year with out parking anymore 8's would not be considered growth. Unless you are mgt for DP I doubt that you can accurately say there is no room to grow.
(once again my understanding)

The 8 that came out of the bone yard, was to replace one that was beyond economical repair.

As far as growth, I never said there was not room to grow. What I was trying to say, is that their actions and their retorhic (sp) do not point towards growth.

As far as the 767's that are on order, they are behind on the delivery schedule, and have been parking DC8's everytime one arrives. I am told they are all replacement orders, not additional aircraft.

I guess that we have different info, my understanding is no more 8's are to be parked (at present time).

Contradiction

Well, ask your source this question.......

If no more 8's to be parked, and a 767 scheduled for delivery in April, given their already thin staffing model, why is management saying no recalls in 2004? Does that not seem to be contradictory?

It certainly does not point to them hiring any time soon, which was why this thread started. IMHO, at the very best new hires may arrive in the 2nd Q of 05, based on what management is saying and doing today.......!
