There's a black mooney that's been rotting for longer than any of the FBO employees can remember on the ramp at 3MY. It hasn't moved in the last 5 years, at least. I'll have to write down the tail number next time I see it. It's very beyond unairworthy - it's barely groundworthy. We think the airport owner might know who it belong to, but nobody gives enough of a fark to ask about it.

There is one here like that.
Repairs $5K
Paint & interior/glass about $8K
Radios $5K
Engine and prop work $10K
consumables (tires, seals, fluids, filters, etc etc) $1K
annual $1K

add it up, then go find a flyable airplane at TAP for less!

thank god there are people who see the dream and keep bringing life back to these planes or we would run out of them!

The only real value there is... if they GIVE you the plane and you sell it on Ebay to someone less discerning!

I am really considering buying this C-150F and bringing it back to life. I think the reason is that my family has always had customized cars, and trucks. My dad has a Shelby Cobra he built from the ground up, completely cutomized. My brother has a customized 1989 Mustang GT 5.0. So, I kind of want a customized C150F. Its a stupid reason I know.

the best reason is YOUR reason. i say go for it, man. do you have any kids of your own or in the neighborhood that you can make this a project with? man, i would have LOVED to tackle a project like this when i was knee high to a grasshopper.

lol me, I like the Cessna 150/152 class.

Thats just cause you need to fly more planes, once you get out of the trainers you will find some really cool aircraft. Citabria, Pitts, Diamond Star, RV's, etc.

I've flown Pitts, T-6, jets, blah blah blah....and the C-150 ranks in my top ten.

The worst I've flown has been a Katana DA-20. What a piece of crap.

Ok, now the 150 is still not up there with me, but I will give you that the Katana is a absolute piece, but thankfully nothing like a DA40 Diamond Star, they are different, the star is awesome. I have like 200 hours in one, I love it. Not the fastest or most HP but just cool.
