The local ATL news mentioned the FAs and mediation at AirTran. Are the FAs strike unhappy about their present contract or did I not understand what the news lady was saying.

I noticed our customer service decreasing along w/ morale due to our current contract progress for both the pilots and FAs. I hope low morale is not contagious as I was planning for greener pastures at AAI. Our management is advising us about the value of customer service but they forget the part about treat your workers as you want them to treat your customers.

Apparently the biggest problem is with work rules, specifically hours of service according to most of the news reports I've read. Does anyone have any details about how the current work rules and pay are and how much they are asking for? I'm just kind of curious as to how they compare to the other LCCs.

AirTran Flight Attendants are all over the place... They have such a junior group and the company keeps them so shook up that they have a hard time getting organized. Some are on board with the union, some aren't. Its a mess.

I'm glad they are going to a mediator... good. Get it over with and press on. I wish the FA's the best. They do a pretty good job given what they are paid and what is expected of them. Reserve, sit time, days off. etc...

A few have started 'mixing' it up a bit. No schedule has been jepordized on any flight I've worked or commuted on.... Service seems to be the same as always..... Soda and pretzels..and then thank you bags... Some jets get picked up and seat belts crossed ... some dont.. The coke machine comments in the past probably dont help...

You'll see little chaos. They're not that organized.
