I am a Furloughed American Airlines Pilot Based in DFW that used to fly the S-80. Can I make it any clearer for you?

IMHO, the vast vast majority of furloughed AA pilots are never going to be recalled. There are going to be a very vicious battle coming up over scope. Expect the union to sacrifice another 3000 junior pilots via scope concessions in return for keeping the senior guys' pensions somewhat intact.

Expect what was the 100 seat flying as well as the 737 & Super 80 flying to be "transitioned" (use euphanism of your choice) to Eagle or an Eagle-class D-scale.

Get over yourself MrVmo. Still bitter about the TWA integration I see which I had no part of. The furlough has been a blessing in disguise since I am doing much better now then when I was flying for AA. If AA recalled me tommorrow I would without a doubt defer.

There is nothing to gloat about. I am gainfully employed making much more money then I made at AA and much much happier.

Look, we TWA people are always going to be pi$$ed about the integration/disintegration of our careers. AA came and ruined our little utopia. DKitty and the others who are getting layed off didn't do it. The ones who did it are still employed. Nothing(legal) we can do about that. We just have to hope everyone here finds a decent job.

Just one tiny correction. The reason I am bringing in more cash than when I was flying for AA was the fact that I diversified myself before the furlough. I am working 2 different jobs at the present time and it takes up almost all of my time. I only wish I could make this much just flying a Lear!! Luckily I love my work in both areas and I find it quite enjoyable.

The rest of your statement is 100% right on. I had nothing to do with this whole mess and am very sorry for the thousands of lives that it has affected.
Hopefully in the future the hard feelings can be put aside and everyone can get along. I doubt it, but one can only hope.
