When the reporter starts reading the AD, off camera and comes to the part where he says.. and I quote..

"Um.. we don't want airplanes to explode"

Priceless!

I can see it now, this guy has no clue about the AD and was told it really is not bad, just the FAA with a bug up its A$$. Then he gets on camera and learns about it (obviously sounds dramatic) and his only response on camera is a big gasp of air while turning white. Have a feeling he'll be working on a new degree next week.

That's the worst guy I've ever seen put in front of a camera to answer questions. He couldn't even hold his own against that Whiny, Knebbishy, interviewer. He sounded like Woody Allen's less confident little brother.

No kidding. If he were a real management lackey, he would know how to look you in the eye, lie through his teeth, and strip your wallet while convincing you he deserved a raise.

I was watching Your World with Neil Cavuto yesterday on Fox News about the AA mess. Watched the segment with the AA spokesperson-yada yada yada! Then watched the next segment when the AA First Officer chimed in with his version of this debacle.

Damn! Talk about pulling no punches, I tip my hat to this guy for telling it how it is and basically contradicting the AA spokesperson-even Neil Cavuto asked him weather he's still employed and perhaps he should check his mailbox when he next reports to work!

Now that is some bad press.

My guess is that guy will be working as a security guard whithin a week.

He choked - but it kind of seems like a journalism version of "YOU GOT SERVED!!" This guy's a PR rep not a mechanic or FAA inspector- and after the SWA deal broke- the FAA needed to make sure everything was done right-Dumb of AA- but i'm not convinced an airplane was about to explode.

Would anyone here hesitate to put your family on one of these planes?

Yea me too. LOL
Bet he is a joy to do a 4 day trip with.

You see, that is how a pilot dresses when they want to look professional. If he wanted to look like some hair gel wearin', backpack totin', Ipod wearin' moron...well, he would have dressed like that. As long as you stay at Piedmont, you can dress anyway you like;)

This whole situation reminds me of this...

"Son, we live in a world that has regs and those regs have to be guarded by men with short-sleave white shirts... Who's gonna do it? You? You Mr. Mx Guy? I have a greater responsibility that you can possibly imagine. You weep for Mr. Busted MX Guy and you curse the FAA. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Mr. Mx Guy's ticket being pulled, while tragic probably saved lives, and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about in the crew lounge, you want me on that ramp, you NEED me on that ramp. We use words like coffee, MEL's, violation. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time or the inclination to explain myself to man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the safety I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I'd rather you just say 'Thank you' and get on your way, otherwise I suggest you pick up a clipboard and inspect those shoddy worn-out brakes. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to..."
