This coming from the AA negotiations website. Apparenty the company and union have come to a TA. No tasty details, but interesting since there hasn't been any movement on this front for quite some time.

oooo we need details!

I had a final interview with AA not too long ago.....still waiting to hear. The negative press just doesn't stop though.
In your honest opinions, would taking a job there be walking into a big trap that will end up screwing me? I have been through a bankruptcy once that really destroyed me for awhile.....I really don't want that to happen again. They seemed pretty adamant that they were going to have significant numbers of retirements coming down the pipes....but if the courts throw out pensions then how likely is it that their senior force will still be wanting or able to retire?

Well....never mind....I guess it doesn't matter now anyways....just got my rejection letter. :(

Hey props...I think it should read "WTF?, over" :)

It's likely for the best. An essay?? WTF?

Yeah, I thought the same myself, but at least the topic was relevant to the situation, and overall, it was an easy task compared to the battery that DL puts you through.

I know....a computerized personality test and a reading/math skills comprehension test before you can even be granted an interview! These things are getting out of hand in my opinion, but I guess in this economy they can ask candidates to walk across hot coals to prove their worth if they wanted to.

What type of math questions does the Delta test ask?

If 65% of Delta's total flights are operated by regional carriers, what percentage is mainline?

(Just kidding. Guess I am spending too much time on the majors forum and their talking points.)

Well, it really wasn't too much math skills...it was more like, look at this graph/statistics table and answer questions based on it. There were a few currency type math questions as well....like, if 1 euro equals this many American dollars, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll, Tootsie Pop.........wait....flashbacks to the SATs.....sorry.

Be happy that DL no longer makes their applicants talk to a shrink - oh wait, the shrink killed himself!

Probably talked to too many dispatchers....

Sooo anyone have any details?

As expected...

Well, rumor has it is that AA is no longer agreeing to the agreement reached. What a surprise. Sorry AA guys, I wish you all the best.
