Kill 'em with kindness...
The very few times over the years someone was making a point to be a jerk, I made a big deal about how much I appreciated the lift. Went into the cockpit after the flight, kept shaking their hands while saying over and over how much I REALLY enjoyed the trip, how NICE everyone was, what a GREAT crew, VERY SMOOTH, etc. Usually they just mumble , yeah okay see ya while not being able to look me in the eye.
And then there was one time I just decided that it wasn't worth putting up with a load of BS and said, just hand me back my license there Skipper and have a nice day. If YOU ever need a lift, be sure and look me up.
