AA 737-800 jumpseat? 1 or 2?

anyone know how many jumpseats are in the cockpit of American's 737-800s?

trying to get out on the first flight tomorrow and they are all full.

AA 737-800's have either one or two jumpseats depending on the aircraft number. 3AA - 3CP have one jumpseat. 3CR and above have 2. What flight are you trying to catch?

And the SABRE default shows only 1 jumpseat for all 73's, so take a peek at the nose number of the airplane, if it's 3CR or later, tell the agent that the jet has 2 cockpit jumpseats, they can manually override the default and issue the 2W seat. OR ask the crew, they will probably have to go look for themselves...

thanks for the help, guys. great info to keep in my pocket. we've decided to drive tomorrow and avoid the extra stress.

btw...all CAL 737-500's have 2 jumpseats (tail #s 600+ are -500's). some 737-300's have 2 and some 1. tail #'s 337 and greater (338, 339, etc) 737-300's have 2. tails 336 and less have one. all new gens have 1 jumpseat. that's the info i go by. maybe someone else can verify it.

wish it was different. but the second jumpseat is an option and i guess CAL got a better deal without them.
