If it's the program I'm thinking of, it's some groundschool and sim training that leaves you with some sim time and an enjoyable experience, but nothing more.

Sort of a "airline camp" for adults.

Save your money.

Does anyone know anything about the A.T.O.P. (Airline Training Orientation Program)? Is it worth the money?

I did it last year. It is a well run "Orientation" to the airline training environment. Our class was about six folks with varying experience. One guy had done it 3 times.

It is a pretty intense 2-day course that will expose you to jet systems, CRM, and cockpit flows. If you've never had the level D sim experience, it will blow you away.

It's only $435 (last year). In addition to 1.4 hours of 737-300, level D sim time in the logbook, we got to meet a lot of people at Continental Airlines, and were given full access to their CBT cirriculum. I felt it was well worth the money. Wayne is an awesome teacher and I really enjoyed the experience. I'd do it again when I'm closer to qualifying for a flying gig.

Wayne was trying to develop a 777 LOFT program which would include a full transcon flight, but at a significantly higher price, it appears there was not enough interest.

I would agree that it is like a fantasy airline camp, but you'll get out of it what you put into it.
