There is a story in our local paper today that the former Rickenbacker Air Base in Columbus, just south of CMH (Port Columbus) just open for airline traffic. The first passanger plane to land there was from Southeast Airlines. An MD-88.
Is this a new upstart? or have they been in business for a while? I have NEVER heard of them.
"Southeast Airlines is headquartered in Largo, Florida. The airline was founded in 1992 under U.S. Department of Transportation regulations as a Part 121 Supplemental carrier. Southeast Airlines meets the exact same maintenance and service requirements as commercial airlines such as Delta Airlines, American Airlines, United Airlines, etc. The difference between Southeast Airlines and the other carriers is how we sell seats to the public. Under federal regulations we are classified as a charter airline and that simply means that we must escrow each passenger’s funds paid in advance of travel dates in a federally approved depository bank until that passenger has traveled. This provides the maximum consumer protection possible."
Thanks for the information. According to their web site, they are looking for pilots as well as ALOT of other ground and support personel.
Southeast Airlines has employment opportunities that occur from time to time though the growth of our airline. If you are interested in being contacted for future openings and you meet the general requirements for the job classifications listed below, please e-mail or send your resume and contact information to us.
