How strict is the company with the whole 2d or equivalent flashlight? The FOM says 3 volts. What do most people use? Anyone ever hear or the company making a stink about what the pilot brings in terms of the type of flashlight?

I hope CS understands this is the exact reason why we need a private message board. Simple questions like this can't get answered without having to go to a public forum and air laundry.

Get a 2 cell AA Maglite. I used a 2 cell C Maglite for years, and then realized I was just lugging extra weight.

Let me guess....the company is to cheap to keep properly working headsets for the crew members?

I see I wasn't the only one who thought this said "9e flashlight"

Good to know I'm not that drunk...

RUFK ME Bring our own flashlight...I'll dig through my Sporty's bag and see if I can find it under my e6b... What a POS airline Whats next a hood or foggales for a little extra IFR time...Oh wait I bet FO's get to log PIC as a Safety PILOT!!

GOD I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Skywest requires you carry your own. I'm not sure why the mounted flashlights aren't sufficient but I would want to rely on one if I REALLY needed it. Either way, the personal flashlights are required by the FOM - which means they are required by the feds.

I got a Surefire as a gift several years ago. It's awesome and no one has ever questioned it. A red LED light hanging from my ID lanyard, although it doesn't meet the requirement, works awesome for general cockpit lighting (speed cards on approach, etc.).

Why does this company not equip the aircraft with flashlights...lame

Seven,

LMAO! You're quickly going to learn that at Pinnacle, not having a flashlight equipped in an aircraft is one of the least "lame" things you will come across.

The culture at Pinnacle, and especially Colgan are about to change. The whip is already being "cracked" at Colgan. It's a wonder the FAA hasn't shut them down yet. I've been hearing some scary things lately. Just turn on the news....they are on fairly frequently. You guys know you just got a new COO right?? That should tell you something.

Would if I could. Maybe you haven't heard...they're parking them...FYI

All I'm saying is be happy you have a left seat to go to. Complaining about a flashlight is pretty petty when you have to deal with what some people are dealing with. Time to move on. I hear this award is not going to be good for 9E.

Shockey was a PT stooge. Now that PT is gone, all his colleagues are being forced out as well. A new COO is no surprise. Typically, when you bring in a new CEO, he's bound to bring in some new players, and no surprise that one was from Frontier (someone he knows well). The culture may change, but very slowly. Until then, expect status quo. The realignment delays highlights their lack of manpower, lack of computer skills/personnel, lack of intelligence.

And, oh, if 11-09 is a mess and the computer is spitting errors, then I for one want the entire 11-08 redone!

I heard 11-08 was done manually from the get go. Just a rumor though.
